EUROGAMES 2012 BUDAPEST AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

MAIN OBJECTIVES:

Increase awareness about EG2012
Convince people to register
Help to gain financial and moral support

ACTIVITIES
These activities, that could support a successful EuroGames in Budapest, are listed below. Please let us know, which activities from the following list

  • you could do yourself
  • you can not do yourself, but can find someone else
  • You can not do and you cannot find anyone else

Please also let us know, if you have any other ideas, that are not on this list

1. Promote EG 2012 on Facebook

  • Invite your friends to “like” the site of EG2012
  • Invite your friends to join certain events of EG2012
  • Post info on your wall frequently about EG2012
  • Create discussions

2. Promotion at venues: event, bars, clubs, saunas

  • Put out posters at all possible places, where there is a big crowd of LGBTQ people and supporters/friends (The special ambassador poster will be A4 size, easy to print with the logo of EG2012 and the contact info of both the event and the ambassador)
  • Convince them to have promotion events with the logo and name of Eg2012. For example “EuroGames Budapest Happy Hour” in a bar, or “EuroGames Budapest special reduced fee on sundays” in the sauna or convince a disco to use the name of “EuroGames Budapest” for casual parties (also on their internet surfaces)
  • Promote with fund-raising. Depending on the local culture collecting money at bars, parties and other events* by giving out
  • organize meetings (for example breakfasts or brunches) for journalists, where you give them info about EG2012

1. flyers with the bank account number of EG2012 or
2. collecting cash in pots

*By other events we mean all sorts of receptions, workshops, conferences, gatherings that are organized by LGBTQ associations, municipalities, charity clubs etc. and where the audience is willing to donate

Promotion at sport events: trainings, tournament

  • Go the local clubs, visit their trainings, talk about the EG and convince to regsiter
  • Go to the local tournaments and promote EuroGames to the local audience and the guest athletes

Promotion on internet

  • All possible local dating sites, news portals, forums, blogs
  • EG2012 banners and ads
  • Start and/or participate in forums: hwy (not) to go, how to travel, what sports
  • keep the EuroGames as an issue alive on the net

Promotion in printed media

  • LGBTQ magazines, program books, non-lgbtq daily, weekly, magazines (health, sport, lifestyle)
  • Articles about your local team preparing for Budapest
  • Budapest related travel articles, mentioning the EuroGames

Solidarity

  • Convince people to donate
  • Convince people to register for our solidarity registration

GUIDELINES FOR YOUR WORK

  • Our financial recourse are very limited, therefore we can not send you too much promotional materials.
  • Please use our official logos, banners, posters and do not use your or own design. The basic graphical design is available on our website and we will send you all materials via email
  • Please always try to mention the possibility for donation
  • Please make people aware that they are also supporting the EG2012 by using our hotel reservation system, event shop and special travel fares mentioned on our website
  • most of the necessary information can be found on the official website and the facebook. If there are questions, that you are uncertain about, make sure you contact us before answering
  • the coordinator of this program is Miki miki [dot] goschy [at] yahoo [dot] com in case you can’t reach him, please contact Barbi in urgent matters info [at] eurogamesbudapest [dot] hu
  • there is a closed facebook group, where you can meet other ambassadors and discuss related issues

WHAT WE EXPECT

  • We would like to work only with committed ambassadors
  • Therefore we ask you to report us about your activities on a monthly basis. This way you can share your work and experiences with us and the other ambassadors.
  • This is a voluntary work. Still we need some control. We can’t consider you as an EG2012 ambassador, if we don’t receive a monthly report from you.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER

  • As we have very limited financial resources, we are not able to pay you any
  • You will be part of an enthusiastic support team
  • You will be our special guest in Budapest next summer
