Basketball

1. The goal of the tournament

The tournament is organised for professional and amateur athletes regardless of their knowledge of basketball, age, sexual orientation and gender identity. We are expecting 6 female and 12 male teams. Early registrations are recommended!

2. Location of the tournament

The tournament will be held in the sport hall of a school in a suburb of Budapest. Details about the location will be published later.

4. Date of the event

29th and 30th of June, 2012 (Friday and Saturday)

  • arrival and registration: until 8:30
  • speeches of opening: 8:45
  • start of the competition: 9:00
  • lunch break: 12:00-13:00

5. Categories

Male and female teams compete separately.

6. Details about the tournament

The tournament will be held according to the FIBA rules.
The teams will be put to groups by drawing lots. Knockout system until the finals and bronze matches.

7. Medals

Medals will be given to the first, second and third best in the male and female categories.

8. Registration

  1. All athletes have to register through the central registration system on the EuroGames 2012 homepage.
  2. All athletes have to register on the 28th of June (Thursday) at the central EuroGames registration.
  3. All athletes have to register at the venue on the day of the competition.

9. Results

The results will be published during the tournament on a board and on the internet site of the competition a few days latest after the EuroGames.

10. Important information

  1. All athletes participate at the tournament on their own risk!
  2. There will be first aid during the competition.
  3. The organizers are not responsible for the belongings of the competitors at the venue and in the changing rooms.
  4. Purchase of insurance for the competition is highly recommended!
  5. You can enter the venue only with clean shoes.

The organizers have the right to make changes in the planned program above.
