10 Dance Competition:

The 10 Dance Competition will have two classes: A & C. In addition, due to the request of some members we decided to run a 10 Dance Competition for 18+ and for 35+. The competitions will run simultaneously. Each couple joining the 10 Dance Competition will make a choice which category they wish to compete in and will be placed according to their choice.

There will be two prise giving for the 10 Dance Competition, one for the 18+ and one for the 35+.

Open Argentine Tango Competition:

Everyone is welcome to join this competition. It is open to Same-Sex couples and Mixed couples. It is serious but also a little fun. Of course, there will be a medal...

This competition is the first in many years where we can add glamour to politics. Making it possible has been challenging, if not only to make sure that we provide the most secure space for our dancers. It is now up to you, dancers and people, to embrace the event and support it whole heartedly.

 

Registration and update

The website is now updated and allows you to register. The fee is 90 Euros, till February 29, 2012, which includes the three day competition and the Gala night on 30 June, 2012. After that date prices go up: 100 Euros until 30 April, 2012; and 115 Euros until closing date, 17 June, 2012 

The dancing competitions in Latin American, Standard, 10 dance and showdance are organised under the auspicies of ESSDA, the European Same Sex Dance Association. All competitions will be judged by at least or more then 7 international adjudicators. After EuroGames 2011 Rotterdam, ESSDA will grant for the second time the official title of “EUROPEAN CHAMPION Same-Sex Dancing” (*) in all A-levels.

The combination of sportsmanship, beauty, flow and rhythm in the dance competitions makes it a fantastic event for spectators, who will also be invited to the floor for social dancing.

Categories & Divisions

  • A Level: Participants with extensive competitive experience (EW, TG, VW, SF, QS) (CC, SA, RU, PD, JIVE)
  • B Level: Participants with good competitive experience (EW, TG, SF, QS) (CC, SA, RU, PD, JIVE)
  • C Level: Participants dancing at an intermediate level (EW,TG,QS) (CC,RU,JIVE)
  • D Level: Beginners (little experience) (EW,TG,QS) (CC,RU,JIVE)
  • E Level: Starters - NO experience - social dancers (EW,QS) (CC, JIVE)

All couples will enter in their preferred level. A classification round over 2 or 3 dances (EW, TG, QS) (CC, RU, JI) will be danced prior to every 1st round of the competition (except Showdance and 10-dance). The judges will determine in which level you definitely will be dancing, so be prepared in case you need to go on the floor for more dances.

All competitions will be separate competitions for Male and Female couples (except Showdance)

  • All competitions will be divided in all levels (except 10-dance and Showdance = Open) - No senior category in 10-dance, open to all ages
  • No seperation in male/female couples for showdance - Senior couples can also enter adults competitions !
  • Enter seperate if you would like to participate in 10-dance competition
  • Categories marked in pink are competitions for the European Championship titles.

 

IMPORTANT :

Senior => the couple have reached the combined age of + 80 years for both partners together (min. age for one partner is + 35y and only completed years will be counted ! Not days and/or months !) (ID will be asked)

Bronze, Silver & Gold medals for every category !

ESSDA will grant in all A-levels Standard & all A-levels Latin, 10-Dance and Showdance Couples & Teams the official title of “European Champion Same-sex Dancing”(*) with an award and/or gold medal and in addition silver and bronze medal!
