Volleyball

Dear Visitor! We are looking for volunteers for local tasks! Details at the Volunteer menu!

1. The goal of the tournament

The competition is organised for professional and amateur athletes regardless of their knowledge of volleyball, age, sexual orientation and gender identity. As one of the most popular sports, there are 450 players expected for volleyball. Early registration is recommended!

2. Location of the tournament

The competition will be held at one venue with 3 separate courts.

4. Date of the event

28th, 29th and 30th of June, 2012 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday)

  • opening and technical speeches: 8:00
  • start of the tournament: 9:00
  • end of the tournament: 18:00
  • there will be no dedicated lunch break

 

Please do pay attention to the timetable and be in time, especially in the morning!

5. Categories

Female / Male
A, B+, B-, C

6. Details about the tournament

Teams will first play in groups, after which they play for medals. Matches continue until 2 games won, the 3rd game is shortened.
There are 2 times and 6 changes allowed per game. All other rules are according to the FVIB rule book.
Teams will be invited to the courts by loudspeaker. Not appearing to the court after the 3rd call means losing the match.

7. Medals

Cups and medals will be given to the first, second and third best in each categories. All participating groups will be given a certificate.

8. Registration

1. Team leaders can register their groups.
2. All athletes have to register through the central registration system on the EuroGames 2012 homepage.
3. All athletes have to register on the 28th of June (Wednesday) at the central EuroGames registration.
4. All groups have to register at the venue on the day of the competition 60 minutes prior to the start of their first game.

9. Results

The results will be published during the tournament on a board and on the internet site of the competition latest a few days after the EuroGames.

10. Important information

1. All athletes participate at the tournament on their own risk. Medical permission is not required; registration means that the applicant is in a right condition for competing.
2. There will be medical service during the competition.
3. Warming up is compulsory.
4. The organizers are not responsible for the belongings of the competitors at the venue.
5. Purchase of insurance for the competition is highly recommended!
6. The sport hall can only be entered in clean shoes.
7. Balls will be provided by the organizers.
